Do You Want to Be Happy And Healthy Or Right
This question of do you want to be happy or right is the awakening to transforming your life experience.
You see, it all at once hit me that it is the ego that is always wanting to prove itself right along with its existence. It looks to always prove it is right and everything else is wrong, or that it needs things its way. This concept or belief system of having to be right is what creates all the pain and suffering you experience.
It is in this need to be right, that causes all the unhappiness. The ego is perfectly fine being miserable and alone and rejected as long as it feels it is right. Does any of this sound familiar?
Can you remember a moment when you had to defend your position even when you knew you were at fault? Why couldn’t you just admit you goofed up and make recompense? If you look honestly it is because the ego, your ego or self-image does not want to admit it is wrong because for the ego this is akin to losing a part of itself.
This is why there are arguments and frustrations. We the ego, need to defend our existence. In this absurd defense we create separation from others. It is in this separation that pain and suffering is created.
Whenever there is separation there is a sense of lack.
What does being right do for you? Does it really get you what you want? And what is it that you really want anyway?
The ego feels that if I prove I am right, I prove I am superior to the other and in some cases I also get some reward like a raise or the last piece of pizza. Then you realize afterwards that the pay off was short lived.
You will find that being right doesn’t give you true happiness, just an artificial feeling of superiority. Again this doesn’t last very long. In fact those egos that are filled with superiority concepts are usually the ones who suffer the most from proving there are right.
What then is the difference with being happy? With being happy it is realized that there is no need to be right. This doesn’t mean being silent, just that there is no need to demand it is your way or nothing at all.
Being happy doesn’t require a point of view to be right, nor does it reject one. Being happy is in fact the ability to liberate your – Self from all personal beliefs.
Happiness in a sense is not having a concern of being right or wrong. It means being liberated from the delusion of having to be right.
Without the need of being right you are set free from the egos need to prove its existence.
Since the ego is a false sense of who you truly are, it is time to realize that the ego is no longer required for your awareness of existence.
And so here we are again with the realization that the false sense of self or ego, has no true existence, but instead is only a conditioned state of believing. Believing in what? Believing that you exist as this idea of a person.
The person is the persona, only concepts among more concepts bundled together by a common string with your name as a label.
Think about it, when someone is asked to describe what you are like, your personality, what happens? They say your name (label), and then begin to list your beliefs, and characteristic. All this is the personality or ego.
Everything that is listed as your personality is only your conditioning. So the question should be, well, if I am not my conditioning then what am I?
It is within this question that we should spend our precious time. This question will liberate us from the delusion of a false self-image and set us free.
It is in this freedom that happiness abides.
Giving meaning to thoughts and events and holding onto them as part of a false identity is what causes all the pain and suffering.
Holding onto a false sense of your true Self, is the cause of pain and suffering. It is not needed and does not give this life experience any true joy and peace.
All that is needed is the realization that you do not require a made up, (false), identity to exist.
The time is now, not sometime in the future for you to create health and wellness. See this moment as the critical point of changing your life around.
