The You That Is Holding You Back
Most all of what you are experiencing or going through is due to you. It is, may I say, the little you, the false you. This you is the you, You have created by being alive in thoughts of identification with your experiences.
We will call this little false you, your ego, personality, self – image. All of these are the same as the little false you.
Just to go a bit deeper, if you break the self – image apart, there is the “Self” and then the image. It is the image that is the little false you.
Why is it that even though we are always speaking about creating health fitness and wellbeing, this guy Dave, always focus’s on the Spirit and mind more than the body? This is because until we realize how the little false you is controlling our behaviors it can be difficult to reach our goals of lasting health, fitness, and wellbeing.
I will be the first to say that proper nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle are essential to healing the body, and creating fitness, and wellbeing. However, once again this is a gentle pointing to realizing lasting change comes out of a change in the little false you.
Every January due to the marketing of new years resolutions there is an increase in memberships to health clubs, fitness class’s, diets, and lifestyle changes. However, these are not truly resolutions but best intentions coming from little false you. It is the “Yeah, I want to be fitter and lose weight, so I will give it a try”. However, this only last enough to sign up at the local gym, or for the diet program, and after a few weeks of trying people stop and return to their old ways, or they return to the little false you.
They say it was to hard, or they didn’t have enough time, or they had things come up and they had no choice, and on and on. If they realized what really was happening they would say “I am returning to the old habits of the little false me even though I don’t like it, because it is what I am use to so it seems easier.
This is why “The You is holding You back.
It may seem like you can’t do anything about this, yet you are the only one who has the power to correct this.
This is great news, because this holds the truth that you need no one or anything else to become who you desire to be. In this case we are speaking of being health and fit with a deep sense of wellbeing and abundance.
Maybe no one has ever told you this before; that you not only hold the key, but instead you are the key to unlocking your full potential.
Who you believe your –Self to be is the little, false you. My question to you is, are you healthy, fit, and do you enjoy a deep sense of wellbeing and abundance? Do you truly desire to be?
The phrase “I am my own worst enemy, or critic”, is referring to the little false you.
The little false you, is holding you back from creating the life you hope for, and at the highest level holding you back from realizing your True Nature.
The little false you, are all the thoughts, experiences and beliefs you are holding onto and identifying with. You have an attachment to them. You feel they protect you and that without them you don’t exist. This is not true of course.
Take the example of someone who had a terrifying experience. Because of the emotional trauma this person created a belief that it was not safe to go outside. They locked themselves up in their home for over a decade.
Then after seeing someone they love so deeply in danger outside their front door they forgot their belief and ran out of the house and saved their loved one. After doing so they felt the warmth of the sun and the breeze in the air and it triggered a realization that there was nothing to fear being outside.
From that day forward they realized how their belief had been making them a prisoner and holding them back from enjoying all the outside had to offer.
What do you believe about you and the world? That is your little false you.
Recognize each thought and belief, each attachment and judgment, and then realize how it is holding you back.
Any thought, feeling, and belief, that is limiting you, is false.
Don’t be held back by something that isn’t even real. You are so much more than that.
Your potential is limitless, it is only a matter of realizing this and then allowing it.
